Affiliate Program Details

Even though we have tried to keep the cost of your education low, we realize that every penny counts to those just starting out in the business world. To help you out, we have added an affiliate program to our Student Membership level.

The Basics

For each person that you refer who upgrades to the Student Membership level, we will pay you $8 per month. This means that four referrals will pay for your education, with a little left over for snacks. Commissions are calculated monthly and payments are sent out on the 15th of the following month to allow for accounting time and chargebacks. You have the choice of being paid by PayPal or by Company Check. We double check everything so that we can be as accurate as possible.

Tracking Your Progress

When you upgrade to Student Membership level, several changes are made to your MyAccount section of the site so that you may keep track of your statistics in real time. The additional data that is added includes:

The Views tab Affiliate Panel section adds: Balance: which give you the total of what you have earned PayPal Email Address: which is your PayPal email address to send payment to (if you prefer electronic payment instead of paper check by snail mail). Example Affiliate Link: You make link to any non-member page with your affiliate ID. See the section below for how to do this.

An Affiliate History tab has been added to give you a detailed look at the members that have upgraded to Student Membership from your affiliate link.

A PayPal History tab has been added to give you a detailed look at all the transactions with your PayPal Account if you choose to use that method of payments.

A Referrals tab has been added to show you a chart of your referred downline.

Referring Your Friends and Associates

Your affiliate link is listed on the Views page of My Account and looks like: http://www.firestarinstitute.com?a=[Your Affiliate Number] The affiliate links may be pointed to any page (that does not require you to login in to access it) by adding ?=# to the end of the URL. These include:

The Home Page
The Administration Building and all its pages
The School of Marketing, Level 1, Level 2, Level 3 Course Catalogs
The School of Business, Level 1, Level 2, Level 3 Course Catalogs
The School of Personal Development, Level 1, Level 2, Level 3 Course Catalogs

For instance, my affiliate number is 3 and if I wanted to send someone to take a look at the level two course catalog at the School of Business, I would send them to http://www.firestarinstitute.com/content/school-business-level-two-courses?a=3. If I wanted to send someone directly to the Student Enrollment page, I would send them to http://www.firestarinstitute.com/content/office-registrar?a=3. Since some of these URL are long, you may want to use one of the various short URL services like TinyURL or one of the affiliate masking software/services available also. (We will have a more in-depth discussion on how to do this in the upcoming level two affiliate course.)
