Affiliate Program Details

Even though we have tried to keep the cost of your education low, we realize that every penny counts to those just starting out in the business world. To help you out, we have added an affiliate program to our Student Membership level.

The Basics
We have a two tier affiliate program. For each person that you refer who upgrades to the Student Membership level, we will pay you $7 for each month they are active. If your personally sponsored Student Member refers an upgraded member, we will pay you $2 for each month they are active. This means that three personal referrals will pay for your education, with a little left over for snacks.

Commissions are calculated monthly and payments are sent out on the 15th of the following month to allow for accounting time and chargebacks. You have the choice of being paid by PayPal or by Company Check. We double check everything so that we can be as accurate as possible.

Tracking Your Progress
When you upgrade to Student Membership level, a new tab called Affiliates will show up in your My Account Section. It has four main subsections to it:
  • Affiliate History - This will show you all of the history of your affiliate activities.
  • Dashboard - A synopsis of your affiliate activity including:

  • Referrals - Your list of referrals in chart format along with contact information for each one.
  • Tell a Friend - Enter your friend's email addresses and automatically send them an invitation to the Institute.
  • Unique Click Counter - You can run customized reports for whichever time period you wish to track.
Referring Your Friends and Associates
The affiliate program give you a lot of options of which pages of the site that you want to send your referrals to. Your will find your affiliate links listed on the Views page of My Account. There are three different formats for you to use.

The standard link looks like: http://www.firestarinstitute.com/af/[Your Username] and will take your referral to the home page of the site.

The other two affiliate link formats can be used to target specific markets by pointing to any page (that does not require you to login in to access it) by adding ?a=userNUMBER or ?an=userNAME to the end of the URL. These include:

  • The Home Page
  • The Administration Building and all its pages
  • The Student Union and all its pages
  • The School of Marketing, Level 1, Level 2, Level 3 Course Catalogs
  • The School of Business, Level 1, Level 2, Level 3 Course Catalogs
  • The School of Personal Development, Level 1, Level 2, Level 3 Course Catalogs
  • The FireStar Publication newsletter catalogs

For instance, if my username is webmaster and if I wanted to send someone to take a look at the level two course catalog at the School of Business, I would send them to
http://www.firestarinstitute.com/content/school-business-level-two-courses?an=webmaster.

If I wanted to send someone directly to the Student Enrollment page, I would send them to
http://www.firestarinstitute.com/content/office-registrar?an=webmaster.

Since some of these URL are long, you may want to use one of the various short URL services like TinyURL or one of the affiliate masking software/services available also. To make it easy for you to set this up, we have installed a Shorten URL block to the right to get you started.

The following ad copy pages are provided for you to use if you have your own web hosting account. Simple place the code between the < body > tags if you create your own html pages or paste it in the content window if you are using a template system.
