The FireStar Institute is a wholly owned enterprise of Seagull Technologies, Inc based in Tampa, FL.
History
Seagull Technologies, Inc has been a Florida corporation since 1992. Originally created for the retail and service of small computer system, it has evolved over the years in response to the changing market.
When computer hardware became a commodity and the profit drained out of it, the corporation shifted to administering network systems for small businesses that couldn't afford their own their own IT department.
At the turn of the century, it was time to take a look at the market and see which way the industry was going. We decided the Internet held the future. Well, it was a lot more interesting than crawling through ceilings stringing cable.
Like so many others, we have had our share of Internet business failures. But like all true entrepreneurs, the dream never dies. This site is the result of two years worth of research, a dozen redesigns and the usual, "that sounds like a good idea, but do you think people will spend the money?" question.
The point is that we feel that there is a real need for solid, generic education for those who have the dream of running their own business. Very few schools teach real-world business education. Very rare are the apprentice programs that used to teach the new generation of business people. So we hope to bring all of the information together that is needed to succeed in today's economy, to give all those dreamers out there the best chance at success they can have.
Only time will tell how many we will be able to help.
